  • Frequency
    Frequency is a numerical indication of how often a magnetic field circulates per second. If 1 cycle per second (1 Hz) is low and slow, 1,000 cycles per second (1,000 Hz) will move much faster. The Earth and the human body each communicate with each other by creating a vast range of biological frequencies. The pulse-magnetic PEMF frequency is non-ionized and therefore does not harm the body.
  • Waveform
    The Earth's human body and PEMF devices have a wide variety of waveforms. The most common are sine, square, triangle and sawtooth. There is a wide variety of variations within each loosely defined waveform.

    The waveform is important because it intensifies or reduces processes within the human body. And waveforms tend to be tied to intensity, square waveforms are used at higher intensity.
  • Strength
    The strength of the magnetic field is basically the magnetic flux density of the magnetic field, which is how much charge is induced in the stimulated tissue. Most PEMF systems on the market usually consist of low strength. Nevertheless, MRI devices generate high intensity magnetic fields of 20,000 to 60,000 gauss. However, while some PEMF systems range from up to 2,000 gauss, depending on the symptoms, even low-gauge products, as low as 1 gauss, can still be effective.
